Today I read a how-to article on the Digital Photography School forum on bokeh. My plan then was to make a bokeh picture, all I needed was a piece of black paper and some shaped hole punches. There began the search for the punches. I dug through my scrapping booking stuff, went to 3 different stores and amazingly I found no shaped hole punches! I suppose I could have attempted to make a shape on my own but it wasn't what I had in mind. The searching for the punches seemed to take up the whole day and that left me with deciding what to take a quick picture of. So I choose the moon because it was easy enough, except for the issues with the dagnabit tripod!

The First
A few of the sunflowers have started to bloom, so I needed to capture the first one. There are several sunflowers around the yard and it seems they are all at different stages of the blooming process. There is a giant one in the back that is half open and then several others that have a ways to go. That is fine with me, this way when one is done, another will take it's place. I will get to enjoy them for a long time!

Wild Raspberries
We went out hunting wild raspberries today over at Coal Miners Park. Ended up with about a quart of berries, not too bad of a haul.
Looking down over the bridge Elizabeth noticed all the water bugs. I couldn't quite see over the railing since I'm not as tall as Liz, but I was quite intrigued by all of them. This is just a small sampling of them.
At the end of the trail...she looks a little sad to me.
A pile of mushrooms grouped in the bottom of an old hollow tree. A little too scared to get any closer, who knows what else is living inside the old hollow tree?!
