A few of my favorite things to take pictures of...reflections, anything that looks like a face, and shadows!

*Off for a little R&R with no computer. I'll catch up on my blog when I get back with some awesome pictures! Look for me in a couple days :0)

Those Darn Ants!

I work with a great bunch of people and we celebrated that today with a yummy BBQ lunch. Desert (the most important part of the meal) consisted of ice cream, cookies, and cake. Look at these darn ants on our cake!

Just a Brick Wall

It's just a brick in a brick wall...

Sluggish

Ever since I have lived in this house, it seems you can always find a slug on the front porch during the summer. This guy was trying to figure out what that giant white light was that kept flashing in its....eyes. I guess that is what those things are. Yuck!

Pebbles in the Sky

It was a stormy kind of day, a little rain, a little sun, a little thunder. The clouds were quite awesome...looked like there were pebbles in the sky!

Yes, I know you are saying more cloud pictures??!! But these were so cool, I don't think I've ever seen clouds looking quite like these before. I had to do it!

Garage Sale Find

My brother-in-law purchased a Buddha statue today at a garage sale. In it's hands there is this electric static ball. When you touch it, the light is attracted to your hand and makes these awesome patterns. Just how cool is this!! It was pretty cool taking pictures of it, lots if interesting patterns just appeared before me. I particularly liked this one because I see a heart hiding in there. Do you see it too?
50 cents well spent!

Dinner is Ready!

I started my dinner and had to wait for the water to boil for the corn, so I headed outside with the dog and the camera. I brought the camera with me because I am waiting for the eggs in the Robin's nest to hatch. Gotta have my camera with me, just in case! No babies yet :( but caught this guy instead. Not sure who was getting that delicious worm for dinner?! Hope it was gooooood!!
Tasty, tasty!

I went on a photo shoot for my photography class at the Horticultural Lab at the college. Lots of beautiful things blooming there. I used my macro lens...here are a few of my favorites.

Mighty Macro

Experimenting with my macro lens tonight. Wish I would have noticed the spider web a few minutes earlier when the sun would have been in a different spot. Too bad there wasn't a giant spider sitting in that web! That would have been so cool!! Thinking that I might head out there with a flash light later and see what I can get!

A bonus flower :0)

A Rainy Day

It has rained all day and is still raining. It's one of those misty rains, calm and quiet. The drops are everywhere and I just couldn't resist them. So much beauty in such a small thing.

The Blue Monster

On my way home tonight  I stopped for a minute to look out upon the river and the clouds when I caught a glimpse of something moving to my left. I looked around, looked through the trees, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I turned my attention back to the water when it happened again, but this time I saw something that was blue, moving out of the corner of my eye.  I took a few steps over to where I saw it and  could not believe my eyes!  I don't believe it! What could this creature be? Could this be a blue Sasquatch?!! Thank goodness I had my camera in hand and was able to take a few quick shots even though I just couldn't seem to move my feet. I quickly looked around for anybody that might be close by, but alas I was alone. What to do?? Come on feet, move!  All of a sudden there was a strong gust of wind and I turned back to see that my blue monster had disappeared just as quickly as he appeared. Whew, that was close.
Maybe I should call the National Enquirer...

Who Moved My Cheese?

Who Moved the Cheese, that was the name of the training today. Cheese, cheese, all about the cheese! Here's the point...You get what you give. think about it...

*Art by Angie but she doesn't know it yet, so don't tell.

Assignment #6

Last assignment for my photography workshop... portrait pictures. Thank goodness my nieces like to pose for pictures!

Here's one of all the girls, all but one and that's me. When I learn Photoshop a little better, I will just have to start adding me in!
I think I've learned a lot in my class, have an awesome teacher, so it was well worth my time! Next week begins the Advanced the class. Wondering what will be in store for that one?!

Starved Rock State Park

I went on a photo shoot to Starved Rock with a group today. The goal was to take waterfall shots and LaSalle Canyon had the best. Of course there were other interesting things...

Somebody discovered this cute little tree frog. He sat there for quite a while, I'm sure wondering why all these people were taking his picture, before hopping on the tree.

We also came upon a field of bluebells and a few bumble bees. Very awesome!

Goose Fly-By

I headed down to the river to take some pictures of those beautiful fluffy, white clouds. There were several geese around and I could hear this one just making all kinds of noise. All of a sudden I could hear him getting louder and I knew he was coming my way. I quickly turned around to see him ZOOMING past me! No real time to focus, just snapped as he went by, maybe 6 feet in front of me. It was a Goose Fly-By!! :0)

Dragon Pride

At the high school all the kids got to show off their talents. Tori danced awesomely for us and Liz did Chemistry experiments, though she "talked" Tori into helping. There were exhibits ranging from art to child care to photography to foreign languages. So many talents, parents should be proud!!

Dance Tori Dance!

A Small Thing

I was outside looking through my lens to see if that little dirt spot was still there when I caught a glimpse of this arch in the sky across the street just over one of the trees. Well I snapped a few more pictures before I realized there was actually a  complete arc across all the trees and a little glow of color off to the left. Is this the rainbow I have been waiting for? Amazing that it was there and I barely noticed! As always, take the time to notice the small thing, they may turn into big, amazing, wonderful things!

It Happens

Just when you think you can build up that nest egg...it happens. Just when you think all your ducks are in a row...it happens. Just when you think all is right in the world...it happens.

Charlotte and Genevieve

Laurel got two new friends for her birthday. Aren't they just so cute!! The tails are gross, but the rest is cute!

Morning Shoot

For my photography workshop we meet at the river front for a sunrise shoot, 5:45 a.m. However, I'm not sure that this was the most ideal place since the bridge just happened to be right in the way! But this picture is probably my favorite. The bridge is not exactly the most interesting subject here, but I like the bird flying high and the face in the trees :0), the orange of the sunrise. Wish the clouds were just a little more defined. But I was drawn to it, there is just something about it.

 Another face...

Someday I should seek therapy....

I like the way the sun is shining on the water.
