Eye Don't Know

"Eye" just don't know what to say about my picture. Things just didn't turn out the way "eye" wanted. That's all "eye'm" gonna say.

Change

Change, change, change... is that not the way of the world?
Remember, nothing changes until something changes.

In Between

As I am driving home I find myself in between the light and the dark.

Eye Glasses

Check out my new Eye Glasses!

I bought a bag of Eye Balls at the grocery store in the Halloween section. I believe "eye" will be having some fun with these things!

The Original

This is the original Lion bank that I referred to back on Day 19. Though mine is long gone, Jennifer still has hers.

A Purpose

All of my cone flowers have lost their beauty. The pink petals have all fallen to the ground and the rest of the plant is now dried up, brittle and brown. Even so, there is still a purpose for these dried up pods, that's where the seeds are to be found. Without all those seeds I will not have beautiful cone flowers to look at next Spring. Just because something is old or no longer beautiful, does not mean that is in not important to this world. Everything has a purpose.

Page Turner

I am lucky enough to be involved in a program called Success By 6 through the United Way. My job is to deliver books and take-home activities to child care providers, who will then distribute the books and activities to the children in their programs. Free of charge! The goal is for the child and their family to spend some time together reading a good book. How hard is that?!  Just grab a book, snuggle up and spend some time together reading, one of the best gifts a parent can give to a child. I know it works, how do you think my kid got to be so smart!

Fall

Fall officially begins tomorrow morning at 4:04 a.m. The leaves are a little ahead of schedule.

Last Day of Summer

Time just passes so quickly the older that I get. Summer is offically over and I'm not sure where it went?! We had lots of fun adventures, taken several road trips, had some good luck and some bad luck, all in all a good summer. How can it be over already? Oh well, what can I do but try to enjoy every day. Good-bye Summer, Hello Fall!

Foggy Morning

Started out my day in a fog.

This is the view from work. Usually I can see across the long parking lot where there are a few buildings and several trees. Not today.

Buggy Invaders

I have some invaders on my Trumpet Vine...stink bugs! Apparently they decided that this was a good place for a family gathering. Yuck! There is a bird feeder near the vine where I noticed what looked like a larger stink bug guarding several smaller stinks bugs. Must be the spot for the kids to hang out.

Should I worry that they will cause some sort of damage to the vine? Hopefully not. I am hoping that when I check tomorrow, they will have moved on. Buh bye Stink Bugs!

Family Dish

Every family has a dish of some sort that has been passed down from generation to generation. One of ours is these, Hamburgers in the Oven. My Grandmother made them, my mom made them and my sister and I make them. Loose hamburger with ketchup and cheese. Scoop on a bun and slightly butter the top. Pop in the oven to get melty and toasty and they are done! Yum, they are my favorite!  You might say they are just Maid-Rites and that's okay, but to us they are much more special then that.

More Marching

A sea of buses brought all the kids to competition today.

I'm pretty proud of my kid! She does a great job!!

An after performance snack consisted of a hotdog and nacho's. Tasty!
It's a Pac Man nacho!!

Shadows

Shadows are one of my favorite things to find.

Soap Films-Take 2

I saw on Flickr that there were some new pictures of Soap Films posted and so it inspired
me to take a few more.

As I was taking pictures, I was watching the soap swirl and move around. The little black circles on the left side within the white swirl started at the bottom and moved upwards as a line. When it reached the openness of the swirl, it gathered and made circles. It was rather interesting :0)

I used dish soap rather then bubble solution and at one point it got a little foamy. I found these rather interesting too!

Tum, ta tum, tum, Tums!

Some nights there just isn't time to be creative. Tonight I had to take care of my kid who had a case of acid reflux. Awful! Grandmother came to the rescue with some antacid and some other antacid. I think she will be staying away from the Chinese take out from now on!

*PS. No it's not Tums but close enough.

Mausoleum Window

We went out for a little photo shoot at the cemetery tonight. The girls were so SURPRISED!

I was there to take pictures of the girls but the view of the sun shining in through the windows of the mausoleum was just too irresistible.

Amazing...

Then, on our way out of the cemetery, we noticed the moon reflecting on the door.

Marching Dragons

Started the day with the Marigold Festival Parade.

Our first competition of the season.

The PCHS Dragons placed first for Best Percussion, first for Best Drum Majors, and first for Best Auxiliary.  The Marching Dragons also placed first in their division! We went home with 4 first place trophies! Way to go!

Cooper Park

There is this huge uprooted tree by the edge of the river over at Cooper Park that seems to be a cool place to hang out. And with it being so beautiful outside, that's where we ended up today!

Jennifer picked up a fuzzy little friend while exploring.

I was there too, see you can see me in Liz's sunglasses!

We came upon this little green bug who looks more like a Lima bean then a bug.
Usually I am seeing faces in things but instead I see what appears to be the number 25
on this bugs back. Isn't that Herbie the Love Bug's number?

Hooray!

We were out at some of the Fall Festivals going on in the area. Several times today we had thunder and lightning and strong winds, yet it never really rained on us. Hooray!

Aren't they silly!! Can you guess who the biggest kid is?

WWE Smear

Since forever Jim has been a fan of wrestling which means Monday and Friday nights we have to watch wrestling. Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smack Down! I'm not exactly the biggest fan of wrestling, but I do have a few wrestlers that I like to watch. The Rock is my favorite, my next favorite is The Ultimate Warrior then Coco Beware and oh yes,Tito Santana. None of them are around anymore however, on occasion, the Rock shows up. That's an occasion when I enjoy wrestling! :)

These "smears" are of  Mark Henry, he just came out to kick some tushy!!!
