Still the only girl on the PCHS wrestling team. Here she is warming up with a team mate before a match on Sunday. She didn't win but she has improved so much since last year. We are so very proud of her for all the determination and dedication she has put in to being on the wrestling team. You go girl!!

Silhouetted

Topic: Looking Up

Geese again, yes, but I couldn't help it! They insisted!! These two flew a circle around me and I circled around with them, clicking away. See, they were saying "Look up at me!, Look at me!"
I love how they are silhouetted against the sun.

Looking Down...
When you look up, you also should look down. These little guys, all standing in a line, were down on the water.

Magical

Topic: Macro

Marco pictures are fun to take so I picked a fun subject to take a macro picture of, Soap Films. It takes a little doing to get the light just right but when you do you get the most beautiful colors and designs flowing around in there. I chose this one for my Flickr group because there is a face in there! Yes there is!! The face (or head) begins in the soft yellow and heads down into the darker orange. There are two eyes, a nose and mouth. It is soft, a bit ghostly, but it is there. Below are a few more that I captured that I liked as well.

A Bubble Waterfall

Not as colorful as the others but the waves in there are pretty awesome!

For this picture we had to take a little road trip. "We" meaning Jim, Tori, me, and Alexandra, who was behind the wheel. We headed out to Minonk, which is about 1 1/2 hours away, to take some pictures of the hay bales in the field that had caught my eye when I was out and about on Friday. Why so far away just for a picture? Well...because I have been looking at that field for the last couple of months thinking what a cool picture that would make and because it also gave Alexandra some drive time, which she truly enjoyed. And that made it all worthwhile.

Love

Topic: Love

Of course the topic for this Valentine's week is Love, and who better than Luvie and Spec's to show a little love. My two favorite beanie babies, aren't they just the cutest!

Rule of Thirds

2nd Flickr Group-52 Weeks: The 2012 Edition
Topic: Rule of Thirds

At my favorite little lunch spot today and what do I spy?! What a beautiful creature. It appears he was having some lunch too, though I'm not sure what it is that he is snacking on. (Ewww)

Rule of Thirds:The basic idea behind Rule of Thirds is to think of a photo divided evenly into thirds. The Rule of Thirds tells us to place main elements where these lines intersect.  The concept is that by placing main elements and subjects at the power points it would create a more balanced photograph and engage the viewer more readily. The photograph would be more aesthetically pleasing and easy on the eye.

Gracie took Alexandra and Liz and me out to the "Rock". She wasn't absolutely sure where it was and had to get directions from her friend, so it was a bit interesting. Our first time in,we ended up back at the beginning of the trail. 2nd time in, she was determined we were going to find this place and we did! And a  large rock is exactly what it was. Cool place Gracie, thanks for the adventure!

In the Morning

On my desk at work sits this little smiley guy. When the sun shines in and hits the little solar panel, his head moves back and forth. Good Morning Sunshine!

Two-To-To-Tootsie Roll

Topic: 2

What better kind of two then a Tootsie Roll!
I am still learning my new camera and took this picture on the Toy Camera setting. That just means that the edges are darkened. Works well for this picture I believe. As far as the Tootsie Rolls, I snatched them out of the candy jar at work. But I didn't eat them! Nope, they go back in the jar. I not fibbing, really I'm not... :)

Not sure why there is a white background around my picture. Click on the Flickr picture to see it the right way.
